T. K. Stone Student of the Month
Anna Grace Carter - April 2017
When you meet Anna Grace Carter for the first time you are struck by her open and wholehearted smile. She makes a real effort to get to know other people around her and to make the interaction positive. She has both a carefree and light side, as well as a serious and composed side to her personality. She excels at soccer and also in the classroom and she is willing to spend hours each week improving. In addition to playing for the EHS soccer team, she plays for the Flames, participates in the TKS student council, Kuna, and KYA. She has a large group of friends and is always willing to extend herself to make more.
Ms. Steffy says, “Anna Grace is a sweet girl. She works hard in class and strives to be the best student possible. She is also a dedicated athlete who excels on the soccer field.”
Ms. Lunsford, who has had Anna Grace for two years, says “It is such a joy to see her bright smile each day! I appreciate Anna Grace’s respect that she shows to others and to me. She says hello outside of class, in the hallways or out in the community. Anna Grace is a conscientious student and fun to have in class. She participates daily and helps keep the class morale up. I’ve watched Anna Grace grow up and she is becoming a lovely young lady.” Mr. Pfeiffer also mentions that “Anna Grace is the consummate student-athlete. She is a very diligent worker, and truly cares about the quality of her schoolwork.” Ms. Carter, who has had Anna Grace in English, says “I have come to appreciate how hard working and well-rounded you are. I enjoy watching you get excited when you come up with a great idea to write about or when you concentrate so deeply that you scrunch your nose. I know you love being a Panther and it is fun to watch you in your element each day. I appreciate that you are creative yet structured and disciplined. I love that you are confident yet always eager to learn from your peers. I love that you take your job as a panther seriously and feel like TKS is part of your family. Enjoy your moment!” Finally, Ms. Hindle has this to say, “Anna Grace Carter is very deserving of T.K. Stone's Student of the Month. She is very conscientious and focused on achieving academic excellence in all her classes. If she does not understand a concept, she settles for nothing less than mastery. As a classmate, Anna Grace works well with any of her peers and is positive and pleasant to all. She is usually smiling and greets everyone with a smile and a "hello". She is also dedicated as an athlete on our EHS soccer team. She trains year round and demonstrates hard-work and good sportsmanship on the soccer field. She exemplifies Panther Pride!”
For these reasons, we are thrilled to honor Anna Grace Carter as our April TKS student of the month!
Each month TK Stone Middle School recognizes one eighth grade student who exemplifies the characteristics we like to see in all students. This award is presented as an example to all students of our expectations and our definition of the requirements for success in the middle school and beyond. These characteristics are based on some core values we share and we believe will serve our students well as they move into high school and adult life. Eligibility is not based on grades, but rather on the student’s possession of a variety of positive characteristics. The following criteria are used when selecting our student of the month.
